Please find a copy of a press release issued by Swoop today here.

Swoop has announced the start of operations at Toronto Pearson Airport beginning October 25, 2020, while continuing to serve Hamilton as part of its network.  This decision is part of Swoop’s continued recovery plans in response to COVID-19 and is aimed to stimulate demand from price-sensitive travellers in Canada’s largest market.

All destinations currently served by Swoop from the Hamilton International Airport continue to be offered for the summer season until the end of October.  Swoop has also recently published part of their 2020/2021 winter schedule on www.flyswoop.com including four weekly flights between Hamilton and Edmonton.  Additional details regarding Swoop’s complete winter schedule will be released in September.

As we know, in 2019, Hamilton served almost one million passengers, namely with a combination of low-cost carriers such as Swoop and its parent company WestJet, along with leisure carriers such as Air Transat and Sunwing.  While navigating the impacts of COVID-19, the Airport remains committed to restoring passenger operations and will continue to demonstrate to both passenger and cargo carriers the economic benefit of flying to and from Hamilton International.
