Hamilton International Airport Launches Winter Season
Hamilton, Ont. – (Nov. 1, 2016)
This week, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport’s 2016 winter program began operation. Starting in November, passengers will benefit from a variety of sun and domestic flights; during the peak of the winter season, Hamilton International will see an over 75% increase in flights over last winter.
Hamilton International’s winter schedule has a strong returning sun program that includes flights to destinations throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Florida with Air Transat, Sunwing, WestJet and Celebrity Cruises. In addition, Hamilton International also has a robust domestic program with year round service to Calgary from long standing partner WestJet, and new winter flights including twice daily non-stop service to Montreal with Air Canada, and flights to Edmonton, Halifax, Moncton and Winnipeg with NewLeaf Travel Company, operated by Flair Air.

The following flights will be offered from Hamilton International during the 2016/2017 winter season:
WestJet will operate weekly flights to Cancun and Orlando from November 2016 to April 2017, in addition to continuing year round daily service to Calgary with connections beyond.
Air Canada will continue its year round twice daily non-stop flights to Montreal, providing connections to a number of European and Eastern Canada destinations.
NewLeaf will offer direct flights to Edmonton (4x weekly), Halifax (4x weekly), Moncton (2x weekly) and Winnipeg (3x weekly), as well as one-stop flights to Abbotsford (3x weekly) from November 2016 to April 2017. In December, NewLeaf will further enhance its schedule for the busy holiday season with flights to Calgary (Dec. 17 to Jan. 8); all NewLeaf flights are operated by Flair Air.
Air Transat will operate weekly flights to Cancun, Punta Cana and Varadero from December 2016 to April 2017; weekly flights to Puerto Plata will run December 2016 to March 2017 and weekly flights to Cayo Coco will be offered from February to April 2017.
Sunwing will operate weekly flights to Punta Cana from November 2016 to April 2017, Varadero from December 2016 to April 2017, and provide bi-weekly flights to Montego Bay from December 2016 to April 2017.
Celebrity Cruises will operate weekly service from Hamilton to Florida, where passengers have the option to sail an eastern or western Caribbean cruise on Celebrity Reflection from February to April 2017.
Shorter lines, an easy-to-navigate terminal and parking located just steps from the main terminal doors are just a few of the conveniences to using Hamilton International. Flights and vacation packages can be booked online or through local travel representatives. Passengers should confirm flight dates and times with their airline prior to departure.
